Los Altos Police Press Release: Death Investigation Update #1
Los Altos, Calif. — January 18, 2024 — The Los Altos Police Department continues to investigate the deaths of two adults whose bodies were found Tuesday, January 16, at approximately 1:20 PM, during a welfare check.
Preliminary investigation confirms that the bodies of the two deceased are an adult female and an adult male. Time of death is estimated to be shortly before the bodies were found by officers.
The cause of death is still being investigated, and the identities of the deceased have not been released. The identities of the deceased will be released by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office after notifying next of kin.
Investigators can confirm that this case is not related to any missing person cases in the Bay Area, and want to reiterate there is no threat to public safety.
This is an active investigation; no further information will be released at this time. The Los Altos Police Department and the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office continue to be the only agencies releasing information regarding this investigation.
