Mobile Food Vendors
Los Altos Municipal Code section Chapter 8.34 - Mobile Vendors outlines rules and regulations pertaining to mobile vendors operating in Los Altos.
The intent of this ordinance is to provide clear and concise regulations in order to ensure public safety and prevent traffic and health hazards. This ordinance is also intended to preserve the peace, safety, and welfare of the residents of Los Altos.
- Mobile Food Vendors and Operators are required to obtain a permit to conduct business in the city of Los Altos.
- Once an application is submitted, fee paid, live scan prints submitted, a background check is conducted.
- Successful applicants are issued a permit that is valid for one year (Jan-Dec), authorized by the Chief of Police.
- Once approved for a permit, the Mobile Operator must apply for a Los Altos Business License.
- Vending is allowed during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
