Los Altos Introduces New Compost Program

Los Altos, Calif. — September 29, 2021 — The Los Altos Maintenance Services Department is introducing ‘Compost Day', a new compost program to replace the City’s program that is ending Thursday, September 30. 

The first-ever Compost Day will be held at the Maintenance Service Center, Saturday, October 16, from 8AM to 12PM, where residents will have the opportunity to pick up a maximum of 20, 15-pound bags of compost. The newly established Compost Day does not require an appointment. Proof of residency is required to participate.
