Zoning Approval and Home Occupation

Before you start your business and well before signing a lease, it is important to contact the Planning Division to confirm that the zoning on the property where you plan to operate your business allows for your use and/or requires a Use Permit.

If your business is located in Los Altos, then an Application for Zoning Approval or an Application for Home Occupation (See "Supporting Documents" below) should be submitted with your business license application to the business license division of Finance.
