The Zoning Administrator reviews and makes decisions on Design Review Permits for some single-family home and small multifamily residential projects. Examples of projects that require approval from the Zoning Administrator include:

  • A new two-story house.
  • A second story addition to an existing house.
  • A one-story house over 20 feet in height.
  • A multifamily housing development with five or fewer units.
  • Any residential design review application, if deemed necessary by staff.

Meetings

Zoning Administrator hearings are held twice a month, on the first and third Wednesday of each month, at 4 PM in the Community Meeting Chambers at City Hall, 1 North San Antonio Road, Los Altos. Meeting dates and location are subject to change.
