Annual Street Slurry Seal
The Street Slurry Seal is an annual Capital Improvement project that includes cutouts and repair of minor pavement failures, application of slurry coating, and installation of striping. The slurry seal is a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion and small aggregates commonly applied to roadway surfaces as a preventative treatment to prolong remaining life of roadway. Streets selected for slurry sealing in any given year are chosen based on a Citywide ranking of the condition of all the streets that are maintained by the City using the Pavement Management Program (PMP) developed by MTC.
Current Project (July 9 - July 16)
For the 2020 Slurry Seal Project the City will apply Micro-surfacing, a similar surface treatment to slurry seal, on select streets throughout the City. This process may require lane closures and parking restriction on the frontage of your property. In addition, Micro-surfacing may take three to four hours before it can be opened for traffic, please observe all notification, signage and personnel while work is in progress. Project map, contractor’s notification and schedule can be found in the Files section below.
