Los Altos Community Trimming the Town with Holiday Trees
Los Altos, Calif. — December 5, 2020 — The City, alongside the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce and the Los Altos Village Association (LAVA), are delighted to announce the inaugural Trim a Tree @LosAltos program.
Starting this Monday, December 7, Los Altos business districts will be lined with 61-holiday trees adopted and decorated by businesses, community organizations, and families. Decorating began December 1, with community members crafting personalized ornaments to reflect their holiday spirit, organization’s mission, or a donation drive.
“We believe that Trim a Tree will bring the community together, not only during the week of decorating but for the entire month of December,” said Mayor Jan Pepper. “The beauty of the uniquely decorated trees in our already charming business districts is just an added plus.”
The City, the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, and LAVA have worked collectively to implement the Trim a Tree @LosAltos program to spread cheer amongst residents and support the business community during this challenging year.
“This holiday season is more vital for our business community than ever before,” said Anthony Carnesecca, Economic Development Coordinator. “We hope that hosting this new tradition in our business districts will invite residents to 'go local' for the holidays.”
Residents can enjoy the festive trees all month long while shopping and ordering take-out in Rancho Shopping Center, Loyola Corners, and Downtown. Each tree includes an ornament which lists the adopter, event sponsors, and a QR Code to the Trim a Tree @LosAltos map, illustrating each holiday tree's location.
Our organizations would like to thank Los Altos Community Investments, Los Altos Town Crier, Los Altos Hardware, and Mission Trail for their sponsorship of Trim a Tree @LosAltos.
