Demolition Permits
THE LOS ALTOS MUNICIPAL CODE REQUIRES RECYCLING DOCUMENTATION
Demolition Permit Requirements and Application for New Single Family Dwellings or New Commercial Buildings:
(A separate demolition permit must be obtained and finalized prior to the issuance of the permit for the new structure)
Pre-construction Requirements and Application for Additions/Remodels to Existing Buildings:
A Building division staff member will check-off and verify the requirements you will need at the time of your submittal.
(Applicable requirements must be completed prior to building permit issuance, a separate demolition permit will not be issued. Demolition must not commence until the building permit has been obtained. )
Planning Division approval is required for all demolitions, tree protection and tree removals.
You will need to submit a copy of your site plan showing location of all structures and trees proposed to be removed, and all required tree protection measures required by the Planning Division.
Be sure that you contact all the appropriate agencies, secure the required signatures and obtain your demolition permit prior to commencing demolition.
All tree protection measures including required fencing shall be installed. To expedite the review, please submit photographs of all the installed tree protection, noting the trees in each photograph matching to the site plan.
