Funding Available for Air Quality Improvement Initiatives
The Bay Area Air Quality Management District's (BAAQMD) Strategic Incentives Division provides incentive funding for projects that improve air quality, reduce air quality health impacts and protect the global climate.
Programs for Residents
Vehicle Buyback Program
To remove old, high-emissions, vehicles from the road, the BAAQMD's Vehicle Buyback Program will pay $1,000 for a registered and operating vehicle with a model year of 1994 or older. For more information, click here.
Programs for Local Businesses
Bicycle Rack Voucher Project
To encourage more bicycles as a means of transportation, the BAAQMD's Bicycle Rack Voucher Project seeks to provide local public agencies access to discounted or no-cost bicycle rack equipment. For more information, click here.
Electronic Bicycle Lockers
Also to encourage bicycling as a means of transportation, the BAAQMD's Electronic Bicycle Lockers program allows local public agencies to apply for reimbursement for installing electronic bicycle lockers. For more information, click here.
DC Quick Charger Program
To encourage that adoption of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs), the BAAQMD's DC Quick Charger Program offers an incentive award of up to $20,000 for each DC Quick Charger installed. For more information, click here.
Carl Moyer Program
This state-wide program, administered locally by the BAAQMD, offers funding to replace off-road equipment with low-emissions alternatives. For more information, click here.
Voucher Incentive Program
In order to reduce air pollution emissions from heavy-duty diesel engines, the BAAQMD's Voucher Incentive Program provides funding to purchase a new or used low-emissions diesel vehicle, or retrofit a high-emissions diesel vehicle. For more information, click here.
