Los Altos Community Invited to Meet New City Manager
Los Altos, Calif. — July 16, 2021 — The community is welcome to meet Los Altos’ new City Manager, Gabriel Engeland, during virtual and in-person ‘Meet & Greet’ opportunities.
The first 'Meet & Greet' will be a webinar on Tuesday, July 27, from 6-7PM. The second 'Meet & Greet' will be held in person Thursday, July 29, during the Downtown Los Altos Farmers' Market at the City's designated booth. The public is invited to attend either or both 'Meet & Greet' events for a chance to say hello and ask questions.
The Los Altos City Council approved Engeland's appointment as City Manager during the June 22, 2021, regular City Council meeting, concluding an extensive recruitment process of more than 30 candidates. His expected start date is July 19, 2021.
Engeland comes to Los Altos after serving four and a half years as the City Manager of Sierra Madre, California, a full-service city of 11,000 people located 15 miles northeast of Los Angeles. In Sierra Madre, Engeland oversaw 100 staff and managed a budget of $24 million.
