City of Los Altos Administrative Services Director Announces Departure
Los Altos, Calif. – May 11, 2016 – Kim Juran-Karageorgiou, Administrative Services Director at the City of Los Altos, has announced her resignation.
Juran-Karageorgiou has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer with the City of Rancho Cordova in Sacramento County. Her last day with the City of Los Altos will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016, following adoption of the City’s 2016/17 Operating Budget.
“We are very thankful for Kim’s willingness to see us through our upcoming budget process,” said Chris Jordan, Interim City Manager. “Her commitment to the City is admirable and I wish her all the best in her next role.”
Juran-Karageorgiou was hired in August 2014 to oversee the City’s Finance, Technology and Human Resources Departments.
“I have been fortunate to be surrounded by a great team of professionals during my time here in Los Altos,” said Juran-Karageorgiou. “We were able to make some great strides which include redesigning the 2015/17 Operating Budget and 2015-20 Capital Improvement Program, implementing new technology to improve efficiency in daily operations, and kicking off projects including an open budget portal that is anticipated to go live this summer.”
“I am originally from the Sacramento area and my family and I have decided to relocate from the bay area to be closer to family and for more affordable cost of living,” explained Juran-Karageorgiou.
Jordan plans to hire an Interim Director while the search for a permanent replacement moves forward.
