City Hall Reopening to the Public in August
Los Altos, Calif. — June 17, 2021 — The City continues to carefully reopen public facilities in an effort to maintain a high level of safety for staff and residents. With California lifting the Blueprint for a Safer Economy's tiered system, City facilities will transition into a phased opening with an expected City Hall reopening in August 2021.
Over the coming months, staff will continue developing and organizing the City's 'Return to In-Person Plan' (RIPP), specifically for employees who worked remotely throughout the pandemic. While the plan is in development, members of the public can still file permits, applications, plans, and other documents online as well as schedule appointments and meet with staff virtually. Many of these new practices will remain even after the reopening for added flexibility and accessibility of City services.
During this time, the City will add various safety enhancements to public counter spaces and work with staff to establish an appropriate partial telework schedule. The City is also encouraging staff to 'disconnect and recharge' from work after a challenging 15 months before the reopening.
We will continue to monitor changes at the local, state, and federal levels, and if drastic change is implemented, we will let the public know accordingly.
