Covington Road Bicycle & Pedestrian Improvements
The comprehensive Blach Neighborhood Traffic Study prepared by Fehr & Peers in December 2010 identified a number of recommendations to improve and enhance vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic in the Blach School neighborhood area.
In order to enhance the pedestrian and bicycle safety of students accessing Blach Intermediate School, new bicycle and pedestrian improvements on Covington Road from Miramonte Avenue to Blach Intermediate School are recommended. These improvements include a timed bike lane in both directions of Covington Road and an improved sidewalk on the south side of Covington Road.
The project is listed as a Tier 1 improvement, meaning it will have the largest impact on students’ safety and circulation.
